They find happiness even when they are scared and invite their friends to join them on the tennis court to talk and have a good time. She goes on to say that she and her friend can be the "class clown" and "beauty queen in tears", respectively, as they show others how little they care about conforming to society's norms. Despite all of these things, Lorde knows that these objects will never own or control her. She acknowledges that she is only as young as the current moment and finds happiness in the little things that she buys to pump herself up. Lorde sings about how she is bored with the way people talk and their smart words, as she is more interested in the thrill of chasing after the million things she wants. The song "Tennis Court" by Flume featuring Lorde is about the thrill of youth and living in the moment. Getting caught soft with the triple is it How can I fuck with the fun again, when I'm knownĪnd my boys trip me up with their heads again, loving themĮverything's cool when we're all in line, for the throne I'll see the veins of my city like they do in spaceīut my head's filling up with the wicked games, up in flames Pretty soon I'll be getting on my first plane Let's go down to the tennis court, and talk it up like yeah (yeah) We're so happy, even when we're smilin' out of fear Give Flume’s track a listen or three and tell us if you like his take on the New Zealand dynamo. It's a new art form showing people how little we care (yeah) Tennis Court‘s lyrics speak of a girl not comfortable with the people and places where she is currently living, instead telling us that “pretty soon I’ll be getting on my first plane, I’ll see the veins of my city like they do in space.” Flume’s remix echoes this, with a funky rhythm that conveys the discomfort of dealing with the wicked games people play with each other and wanting to move beyond them. Sometimes Aussies and Kiwis are known to pick at each other, but in the case of the Australian native Flume and Zealander Lorde, an amazing partnership occurred on this track as it is very apparent that Flume “got” the original feeling of the track. Don’t you think that it’s boring how people talk/Making smart with their words again, well I’m bored/Because I’m doing this for the thrill of it, killin’ it/Never not chasing a million things I want Lorde, legally known as Ella Marija Lani Yelich-O’Connor, has a voice perfect for an EDM twist, and for his remix efforts Flume did not disappoint. Flume puts an awesome spin on Lorde’s already stellar track Tennis Court, blending her lyrics with a darker beat that matches perfectly with her haunting voice. Every once in awhile we hear a remix that we have to play over and over to believe it’s really as awesome as we think it is: Flume’s remix of Tennis Court is one of those remixes.
